Easy Fat Loss

Tired of trying all those diet plans like Atkins and Jenny Craig?

Lack the will to combat your lust for food but tired of feeling and looking like crap?

Good news, there are 2 choices for you.

You can chose between the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (LAGB) or the Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (LRGB) procedures—both are minimally invasive procedures and referred to as keyhole surgery. Minimally invasive means that the procedures require only a 1 to 2 day stay in hospital and 1 to 2 weeks before you can get back to work.

In both procedures small cuts are made to insert the surgical tools. The LAGB requires 4 small 1/4" cuts and 1 larger 3/4" cut while the LRGB just requires 5 small 1/4" cuts.

The LRGB works by bypassing the stomach while the LAGB restricts your stomach by using an adjustable silicone ring. This ring is placed at the top part of the stomach creating, in effect, a miniature stomach.

It sounds so wonderfully easy, doesn't it? A little snip there, another snip there, and out emerges Mr/Ms skinny.

Too good to be true? Well there are some negatives to the procedures.

Both procedures require restricted diets and the taking of life-long supplements. A restricted diet means that certain foods must be avoided—LRGB patients must avoid fats and sugar for life. It also means a maximun of 1200 calories a day for life—initially both procedures restrict patients to a maximum of 800 calories a day.

This caloric restriction shouldn't be a big issue as both procedures make you feel fuller after eating a small meal. I'm not sure that you can be very active after either procedure; I'm thinking that 1200 calories would be too restrictive for a very active lifestyle.

Both procedures will also require you to do a life-long exercise routine—usually walking at least 10,000 steps per day.

In both procedures the weight loss is gradual—you don't walk out slimmer after the operation!

So let me get this straight.

There is no sudden weight loss, a regular exercise program MUST be followed, life-long supplements are mandatory, and you have to restrict the amounts and types of foods you can eat for the rest of your life.

Sounds like the standard recommended way of losing weight—with the exception of costly surgery and possible complications!
